Duration

We gather in a cafe that can best be described as an Amsterdam living room. The place where you feel at home no matter what time of the day.The place to enjoy our early morning coffee, home made cakes and meet our new friends for the day.

We will visit one of the last working flourmills in The Netherlands. The proud owner will explain you everything about his craftsmanship. Did you know that the craft of milling has recently been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List?

The miller’s wife will serve a delicious Dutch lunch with home made specialities in the tea dome, which dates back to the year 1812. These tea domes were built on the most beautiful spots near the moat or river, well to be admired from the water. The rich owners enjoyed the view of all that happened on the river, while drinking their costly tea in their delicate China cups.

The shop has a huge verity of flours, grains and other traditional baking products. The place to purchase souvenirs that can be helpful to improve your baking skills at home.

IJsselstein used to have a defensive wall to protect the city from potential aggressors. The old moat still remains and we will make a tour in an open boat along some remnants of the town wall on the south and east side of the old town.

This day offers plenty of photo opportunities so bring your camera. Indulge yourself and join us for an unforgettable tour.
