Wander around import places tied to the life of one of the greatest painters who ever lived: Rembrandt.
We will meet in one of the finest spots on the famous Amsterdam canals. Built in 1695 it was meant to be the home of the sluice master, but nowadays it is a pub of an authentic old Amsterdam character. The place to enjoy our afternoon tea, home made cakes and meet our new friends for the day.
Our storytelling guide gives you an insight into the life of Rembrandt van Rijn. You will visit the places tied to his life that influenced his work. The Rembrandt House, were he lived during his wealthy days. The church where he painted his famous “The Night Watch”. The painting that shows a group of wealthy citizens who could defend the city in an emergency if necessary. The West Church, the biggest church in Amsterdam, where Rembrandt is buried. And many more curious facts will be shared with you.
After this we embark on a private small open boat to sail to the dinner venue along the Amsterdam canal, which is recognised as UNESCO world heritage.
Our local host is proud to receive you in his house and spoil you with an authentic Indonesian meal. You are free to assist in the preparation, before enjoying your “rijsttafel” at a long pleasant table under the watchful eye of Captain Frans Banning Cocq ! This tour offers plenty of photo opportunities, so bring your camera.
