The rich history is tied to many old crafts like production of cheese, candles, ceramics and stroopwafels.
We gather in a cafe that can best be described as an Amsterdam living room. The place where you feel at home no matter what time of the day.The place to enjoy our early morning coffee, home made cakes and meet our new friends for the day.
We will drive to Gouda through the Dutch countryside with its splendid vistas, in a private minibus. Gouda is an imposing, historic town, famous for its rich history tied to many old crafts like the production of cheese, candles, ceramics and clay pipes. We will visit the Gouda cheese market, a spectacular and historic scene, where farmers negotiate about the price with the traders in front of the Waag.
Lunch will be served under the beautiful decorated ceilings of a private old canal house or in a local chef’s home. You will feel thrown back centuries in time.
After lunch our storytelling guide will show you the most attractive places in Gouda. The famous town hall, the splendid St Janskerk with it famous stained glass windows and the former hospital turned museum Catharina Gasthuis.
We do not leave after a “stroopwafel: workshop & tasting at one of the oldest “stoopwafel” bakeries of the town.
